Sunday Scribblings: A New Leaf
This one is a quick scrawl in response to this week’s Sunday Scribblings prompt.
A New Leaf
I am the blank page.
I tempt you and I challenge you
and I terrify you.
Pick up your pen and write on me.
I dare you.
Write me a poem, write me a story,
Write me your day’s deeds and your to-do list,
Write me your dreams.
And make me something new.

There is something slightly frightening about a new year! Anyway, out with the pen!

A new page and a new year each present a bit of a challenge with a lot of hope and no few smidges of disappointment. Wishing you a terrific 2010.

Yes, sometimes a blank page staring at me is a terrifying thing!

The blank leaf in a book; quite a terrifying thought. But exciting too.

…or fold me up and make an origami water bomb out of me, just do something. I never have any problems with first lines nor even first paragraphs – I can write them at the drop of a hat – but it’s what to do after that, that’s where I come undone.

You put this so eloquently.

Guys, a belated thank you for all the comments.
Jim – I need to go Google how to make an origami water bomb now – I’m fascinated by the idea!
