Search terms #2

I know not everyone in the world is good at entering search engine terms. It’s quite a skill, in fact. But, once more for my own amusement, I present some of the search terms which people have used to reach this blog:

  • words starting with day and words that begin with the be (why not use a dictionary, even an online one, for these two?)
  • pre madonna prima donna phrases (someone who isn’t sure of the spelling there)
  • words to write in a review - examples (good, bad or mediocre, perhaps?)
  • acronym words (what, all of them?)
  • google paronomasia u.k. (why would you put the word Google into a Google search?)
  • some words with the word not in it (anyone able to make sense of this one?)
  • felling words in pretty writing (or this one?)

Ooo you’ve got some good ones there.

The penultimate one makes sense with quotes around the word ‘not’ — yet another lesson in the importance of punctuation!

The last one’s a mystery–but I’m grabbing it as a book title, perhaps for a short story colleciton. Just like it!

    Thanks!

Maybe the last one meant “feeling” words? One of the unexpected side affects of using a commons search term in your blog name. I’ve stopped writing movie reviews because I get folks looking for “streamed” version of the films through Google. I’m still getting daily hits thanks to “no country for old men stream”.

The penultimate one made me laugh out loud until Susan’s plausible explanation spoiled it for me.

All my search engine hits in the last week have come from people looking for variations on the theme “last day of lent”
Poor things all come to a post I wrote on Shrove Tuesday entitled ‘The last day before lent’
