NaNoWriMo 2007 #20
So there we are. National Novel Writing Month is over for another year. And I’m feeling a bit deflated.
As my fellow NaNo blogger, Cavantucky/Onyva said to me, last night felt a lot like New Year’s Eve, with the build-up to midnight. Although I’d passed my 50,000 words, when I got home last night (about 9:30), I ate some chips and immediately started writing, and managed to pack on an extra 2000 words or more in that last burst of November-euphoria.
I think this has been my best ever year for NaNoWriMo. Not only did I not flake out immediately after 50K, not only have I vowed to finish the damn novel this year, but there was a great community spirit on the forum, in the chat room, face-to-face. And that made it special for me.
And to keep that community spirit going, we’ve instigated the WriMo Ireland website, a place for us to keep going, to keep writing, to keep encouraging and inspiring each other… a place to carry on the momentum and magic of NaNoWriMo all year round.

Wrimo Ireland is a truly inspired idea! After the wonderfully supportive online party that is NaNoWriMo, December always felt a bit lonely.
Thanks!
