Word of the Day (18/12/07)

Posted on Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 in word of the day

My Merriam-Webster word of the day:

auctorial \awk-TOR-ee-ul\ adjective
: of or relating to an author

It’s derived from the same root as authorial, but I think I almost prefer it. It sounds a bit more authoritative. :)

Work in Progress (13/12/07)

Posted on Thursday, December 13th, 2007 in Work in Progress Tags: ,

I think I can safely say that there is no work in progress at the moment.

I’ve added about 300 words to my NaNoWriMo novel (on December 2nd); I’ve written about a hundred words of a short story while waiting for the plane home this past Monday morning (my brain worked surprisingly well at 6:30am).

But that’s it. And frankly, I’m disappointed with myself. I haven’t even written many blog posts anywhere!

I did write some Christmas cards. Do those count?

I have a whole ten days off work over Christmas. I need to do some writing then. I am determined to churn out at least one short story to enter for the Brian Moore awards!
