I’ve done nothing for most of September. I have excuses for the first week or so - namely a family visit - but no real reason after that why I haven’t written anything.
Anyhow, today I got my groove back. Yay me!
I hope to get Chapter 3 finished by the end of the day, though I’m wondering about splitting it into two. I don’t think I will. There’s no reason not to have 5000 word chapters - it’s just that the first couple were around 2.5K. I have no idea if there is an optimum chapter size… I’d rather go with where there are natural breaks in the story. A bit like RP, actually - finishing each scene in an appropriate spot.
[I haven't RPed in the months. It's about time I did, again.]
Baggage allowances and restrictions:
The following applies for each passenger. Infants are included in parents allowance.
Hand baggage allowance: 10kg in one bag.
Total hold baggage allowance: 25kg.
Does this mean that if your baby weighs 6kg, that you can only have a further 4kg of hand baggage? (Unless you chose to put your child in the hold, of course…)
Some fine advice:
“Read over your compositions, and wherever you meet with a passage which you think is particularly fine, strike it out.”
Samuel Johnson

Sandstorm, James Rollins - finished Monday 18th September. Colin’s book.
The Last Continent, Terry Pratchett - finished Thursday 21st September. Own copy.
Killashandra, Anne McCaffrey - finished Friday 22nd September. Borrowed from Marion.
Crystal Line, Anne McCaffrey - finished Saturday 23rd September. Borrowed from Marion. [I don't think it's a 'first read' - I don't actually remember any of the actual story, but I'm pretty sure I must have read it before].
Ongoing total for 2006: 134 + 8 re-reads
From The Guardian: David Crystal’s top ten books about the English language.
I should read Bill Bryson’s Mother Tongue. I think it needs to go on my Christmas wish-list.
