1. Arabic numerals (originated in India)
2. Peanut (a legume, not a nut)
3. Tin can, tin foil (made of aluminium, not tin)
4. Madison Square Garden (not square; not a garden)
5. Danish pastries (invented in Austria) [and known as Vienna bread in Denmark]
6. Dry cleaning (uses a fluid called naphtha)
7. Pencil lead (pencils use graphite, not lead)
8. Koala bear (a marsupial, not a bear)
9. Panama hat (from Ecuador, not Panama)
10. Asteroid (means ’star-like’; they are small planets)
11. Turkey (native to America; named for its resemblance to a bird native to Africa)
